These terms are an agreement between you and 123Alterations (“we”, “us”). By booking a visit or using your account you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t book.

1. The service

A tailor visits your home at a 2-hour window you choose, pins and prices each item from our posted price list, and takes the items to our workroom or a vetted partner workroom. We return them altered, usually within 7–10 days. Prices depend on your area (New York City, or Long Island and Westchester) and are shown on our pricing page.

2. Your account and sign-in

Your account is created from your first booking and tied to your mobile number. You sign in with a one-time code we send to your phone; there is no password. Keep your phone secure: anyone who can read your texts can sign in. Tell us right away if you change numbers.

3. Quotes and changes

  • Your tailor prices each item in your home. You approve the quote by signing on the tailor’s phone or by a link we send you. The signed total is the most we can charge for that order, plus any tip you choose to add.
  • If we find something new after pickup (for example a torn lining), we send you a photo and a price. We only do the extra work if you tap Approve. If you decline or don’t answer within 48 hours, we do only the approved work and return the item.
  • Bridal and some suit work needs a second fitting. It’s included in your quote unless the quote says otherwise.

4. Payment

  • At booking you save a card with our payment processor (Stripe). Nothing is charged at booking.
  • When your items pass quality check, we run a card check (no charge). If it fails, we send you a secure link to update your card and hold delivery until it’s updated. Your items stay safe with us; see unclaimed items.
  • We charge your card once, after delivery, for the approved amount. Orders under the trip-fee minimum include a trip fee ($20 Nassau, $25 Suffolk, $25 NYC, $20 Westchester; none from $75 on Long Island, none from $90 in New York City, none from $75 in Westchester).
  • If a charge fails after delivery, we retry up to 3 times over 7 days and let you know each time.
  • Alteration services are not subject to NY sales tax. If that changes or a taxable product is added, we’ll show tax on the quote.

5. Our fit promise

If something doesn’t fit the way we agreed at your fitting, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we’ll adjust it at no charge, including the visit. Fits right, or we fix it.

6. Cancellations, your clothes and texts

These are covered in their own pages, which form part of these terms: Cancellation & no-show, Garment care & liability, Unclaimed items and SMS terms.

7. Safety in your home

Our associates are background-checked and carry ID. You or another adult (18+) must be present for the visit. We may end a visit if anyone feels unsafe.

8. Limits of liability

Our liability for damaged or lost items is set out in the Garment care & liability policy. Except where the law says otherwise, we aren’t liable for indirect losses such as missed events or travel costs.

9. Disputes

Please contact us first through your account so we can try to resolve the problem directly. These terms are governed by New York law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under New York consumer law.

10. Contact
