Suit alterations usually mean a few changes: shortening the sleeves, taking in the jacket and hemming the trousers. With 123Alterations it costs $55 on Long Island and $60 in NYC and $55 in Westchester. Most orders come back in 7–10 days. A tailor prices it at your home and you approve before we take anything.

- Pin and price at homeYour tailor fits the suit on you at home and prices it from our posted list. You approve and sign before anything leaves.
- Tag and alterEach item gets a QR tag at your door and is altered in our workroom. A quality check with a photo comes before it is returned.
- Delivered, then chargedWe bring it back in a window you choose. Your card is charged the signed amount once the work is back with you.

Damage, claims and payment
Every item is tagged and photographed at your door and scanned at each handoff. Your card is charged once, after delivery, for no more than the quote you signed. See our garment care & liability policy and how payment works.
Suit alterations questions
Can shoulders be altered?
Rarely, and it is expensive. Buy for the shoulders and tailor the rest; your tailor will say if a change is not worth doing.
Can you fit a groom’s party in one visit?
Yes. Book one visit at one address and list every suit so we hold enough time.
When is my card charged?
Your card is saved when you book and charged only after your order is back with you, for the amount you approved. We never charge more than the approved quote without asking you first.
Is there sales tax on alterations in New York?
No. New York excludes tailoring and alterations to clothing from sales tax, including reasonable, separately stated alterations to new clothing.
